Route 12 is designed for experienced hikers seeking to explore one of the island's most remote and unspoiled landscapes. With its considerable distance and significant total ascent, it offers a rewarding challenge for those who enjoy spending a full day on the trail.

Most of the trail winds through dense, shaded forests of pine, mastic, and strawberry trees. The sense of solitude and wilderness accompanies hikers all the way to the route's highlight: the impressive Gourouni Lighthouse, a historic stone lighthouse standing proudly on the island's northernmost headland and one of Skopelos' most distinctive landmarks.

Continuing beyond the lighthouse, hikers are rewarded with magnificent panoramic views over the open Aegean Sea from the island's dramatic northern coastline-a fitting finale to one of Skopelos' most adventurous hikes.
