Route 8 is a long 10 km hike, ideal for hikers with a good level of fitness, crossing the dense pine forests of central Skopelos before reaching the island's beautiful west coast at Milia beach.

The hike begins in Skopelos Town, where trail 8 markers guide walkers through the maze of traditional stone-paved alleys. As the trail climbs through the upper neighbourhoods, hikers pass historic buildings, Byzantine churches, and elegant old mansions that reflect the island's rich architectural heritage and history.

In the Kyparissi area, the route enters a dense, shaded pine forest, offering cool temperatures and the peaceful atmosphere of the woodland. From the chapel of Aghios Riginos to the Platanakia area, hikers follow a section of the historic footpath that once served as the main route connecting Skopelos Town with the village of Glossa. This beautifully preserved trail retains its traditional character, providing a fascinating glimpse into the island's past, while opening up magnificent views towards Milia beach.

The hike concludes at Milia beach, renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, fine pebbles, and pine woods reaching all the way down to the sea.
