Route 9 is a rewarding long hike, ideal for experienced walkers seeking a challenging yet unforgettable outdoor adventure.
The first section of the trail climbs to Delfi peak at 681 m, the highest point on Skopelos. The ascent follows a well-marked path through dense, unspoiled pine forest, offering a peaceful mountain environment and a true sense of wilderness.
From the summit, the route descends gradually along the mountain's north-western ridge, passing a series of open viewpoints with breathtaking panoramas over the island's western coastline, the neighbouring island of Skiathos, and the endless blue waters of the Aegean Sea.
The hike leads to Paleo Klima, one of Skopelos' most authentic traditional villages. Renowned for its stone-built houses, narrow lanes, and magnificent sea views, the village is well worth a leisurely stroll.
For those seeking an even greater adventure, Route 9 can be combined with the southern section of Route 6, creating a spectacular full-day traverse of Skopelos from south to north, linking the island's two ports-from Skopelos Town to Loutraki.
